Stanford SEED Internship
Kathmandu, Nepal
July - September 2024
Overview
From July - September, I interned at Suvidha Sewa Pvt Ltd. in Kathmandu, Nepal through the Stanford GSB’s SEED internship program. This program partners Stanford students with SME’s in developing countries to focus on business strategy and impact. Suvidha Sewa is a staffing, recruiting, and IT company in Kathmandu.
Over the summer, I focused on product design, branding, UI/UX design for a new SaaS product, and business strategy for global partnerships. I also led multiple design thinking workshops for the office and broader tech and design community in Kathmandu. Through networking events, I was able to connect with professionals in a new culture and share knowledge about design.
This experience taught me how to navigate a business environment in a completely new culture and language. I stepped out of my comfort zone and immersed myself in a new culture, eating delicious new foods, celebrating festivals, and making many new friends. When I look back on this experience, I cherish all the relationships that I built and moments of laughter that come from trying something new.
I come out of this experience with the confidence that I can navigate new and difficult situations and experience designing a new product, preparing for an MVP launch, and sharing what I learned at the d.school with a lot of new people!
Here are some photos from my experience and my work this summer:
Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
